Appraisals
We offer appraisal services. There are two basic types.
Work estimates: Detailed estimates including individual items and costs are provided. Payment schedules and approximate time schedules are also provided.
Value appraisals: Detailed evaluation of piano case, action condition, pinblock condition, tuning pin torque, condition of sound board/bridges, music wire and pedals and trapwork are all included. A current market value is assigned to the instrument. This type of appraisal can be useful to show prospective buyers. This appraisal can also be used for insurance purposes. It could be used as a baseline of condition in case something happened to the piano. Many insurance policies require riders on the home owner policy for valuable instruments. This type of appraisal could also be necessary for tax purposes if the piano were to be donated.
